Nursery - Polar Bear, Polar Bear

A wonderful week in Nursery has been had by all by focusing our play and learning around the story ‘Polar bear, polar bear, what do you hear?’ by Eric Carle. We have loved watching polar bears and their cubs in their natural habitat, rolling in the snow and sliding into the icy water! Ask us what we have learnt about polar bears!

We have thoroughly enjoyed getting messy and making snow dough to create a habitat for our small world polar bears to play in. We put the dough up to our ears and listened whilst we scrunched it between our fingers, as it even made a crunching sound just like when we walk in the snow in our wellies!

We have been singing ‘Five little Polar Bears’ rhyme to take away, and sequencing and retelling the story ‘Polar bear, polar bear, what do you hear?’ using pictures. The children have also been very busy looking after our animals in our Zoo and Vets role play surgery, we have some budding Veterinarians!
