We are looking for a brilliant teaching assistant to join us in a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of our growing team in a brand new multi-million pound Church of England School.
Monksmoor Park CE Primary School opened in September 2018 and we now have Nursery, Reception and Year 1 classes. We have a wonderful group of children and we are looking for a teaching assistant who will continue to nurture, encourage and challenge each child. This role is particularly special as it combines three key elements; Forest School, 1:1 support and intervention.
Forest School plays an important part in our curriculum and every class has a weekly session. Your role will be to support these weekly sessions and help plan and deliver opportunities which engage every child using our purpose build Forest School area set within our school grounds. Ideally, you be a Level 2 qualified Forest School practitioner, however, training can be provided for an exceptional candidate.
Another part of the role will be to support a wonderful Autistic child. This will involve working 1:1 and within groups to enable the child to make progress towards specific learning targets.
The final aspect of the role will be to provide bespoke support to a small number of children to enable them to reach their full potential. This may be academic support or social, emotional or mental health support. All elements will be directed by the teaching staff and children will be from every year group.
You will work closely with other staff members to establish an outstanding setting where children will flourish. A deeply Christian ethos will underpin our work and we will be supported by a hardworking Governing Body and the Peterborough Diocese.
Our vision is ‘Nurturing all to flourish and aspire’ and this applies as much to the staff as the children. You will be joining a school where every voice is valued and we work as part of a very close team. Continuing professional development is highly valued as we teach children the importance of a love of learning.
Working in a brand new school comes with challenges; everything is a first and we only have a small team to do all the jobs but it is also hugely rewarding. We have a unique opportunity to build and shape a school, not only physically, but also the curriculum and ethos. Come and be part of something very special!
