Nursery News

This week we have been painting pebbles as part of an upcoming whole-school art project. It has been wonderful to see the progress made by the children in their fine motor and name writing skills. The good weather has also meant the Early Years children could go outside and enjoy the new climbing equipment kindly bought for us by the school PTA. See our photo gallery

Reception News

Our sunflower art is amazing, and we have also been able to study the plants that have been flourishing in our garden so much that we were able to harvest some peas! The children have been really excited to see if they are taller than the runner bean, and it is hoped they all share their gardening skill with you in the summer!

The Oaks and Sycamores thoroughly enjoyed their fire experience. They enjoyed watching and describing the flames then roasting marshmallows, followed by relaxing in the hammock! Some children made bird feeders and others practised weightlifting in their homemade gym!

Year 4 News

One of their favourite lessons is history, as they are learning all about the Saxons and Vikings.  We recently made Long Ships and this we learnt about what was discovered at Sutton Hoo.

There is still plenty to learn about before the end of term and Mrs Towers has promised we will try Saxon food and nettle tea!

Sports Day

Last week the children took part in another successful sports day when we saw the children competing as a team for their country as well as individually.  Well done to all the children in Australia who won it for the first time this year.  The previous two years it was won by Jamaica and then India.

It was wonderful to see all the children working well as a team, encouraging and supporting each other as well as cheering each other on.  They should all be super proud of their efforts.

Thank you to Mrs Haywood for organising the whole day, all the adults and helpers that gave up their time to make it happen and to the parents and carers for coming to support the event and helping to make it an enjoyable day.
