Nursery News

Image[8]

Nursery have been learning about healthy eating and vegetables this week as they have explored the story 'Oliver's Vegetables.'  The children have learned how to chop vegetables with a knife and have even found out that they can use some vegetables for mark-making and writing.

Reception News

This week we learned about families, we discussed that they come in all shapes and sizes and some even have pets. We talked about who and how many people and pets we live with and used the opportunity to reinforce our counting and adding on knowledge. We listened and followed directions when we used the parachute together in the school hall.  Our photo gallery.

Year 1 News

In year 1 this week have been learning about physical features in the environment. We found out about mountains, lakes, rivers, coastlines and many more. We used Google Earth to see if we could identify some of these features on our planet. Some of us enjoyed the challenge of working on a large jigsaw of the UK. Find out more here.

Year 2 News

Year 2 have been enjoying a new Art project with Mrs Brock on Tuesdays titled "Flower Head". They have been looking closely at art inspired by flowers such as that of Yayoi Kusama and Azuma Makoto. They have even created their own frozen flower art pieces! This week the children explored how to create shape, form and texture in their art using different techniques. They will work towards a final project at the end of term - we can't wait to see the results!  View our photos here.

Year 4 News

Woodpeckers have been using their collaboration skills this week to build “Mansions” in their PE lessons. With different role assigned they worked on giving clear instructions to construct their buildings. In science, we have started to look at our new unit on classifying living things and in English we have taken our notes from a previous lesson to support us creating presentations on Google Slides.  More photos.

Forest School News

download9)1)

We have been thinking about birds in Forest School over the last couple of weeks.  The children have enjoyed using binoculars to find the toy birds which were hidden around our site.  We used an ID chart to identify them and are getting really good at knowing the names of some common garden birds.  As well as the toy birds we have observed some real-life feathered visitors to Forest School from the bird hides we created.   See more photos.
