Nursery News

Another busy week in Nursery and so fantastic to see the children using their phonic knowledge by practising their Fred Talk to sound out and read words. The outside area was home to some great teamwork as we built some shady dens and structures, whilst inside we worked on counting out small world fruit to feed to the hungry baby monkey from the story Monkey Puzzle.  Nursery photos

Year 1 News

Year 1 had a fantastic day at Twycross Zoo last week. The children loved seeing the animals, especially the chimpanzees who were showing off doing roly-polies and high-fiving the glass! Some more of our favourites included the meerkats, tiger, gorillas, zebras, giraffes and bonobos. It was interesting to find out about the different animals' diets and we have been busy using our knowledge of carnivores, herbivores and omnivores back at school.

Don't forget - Year 1 have an extra PE lesson on Tuesday, children should come to school wearing PE kit and trainers please.

Year 2 News

Year 2 have continued to enjoy our art unit about colour mixing. This week we used printing with sponges to investigate different combinations of primary and secondary colours. It was messy fun! In Maths we have moved on to Statistics, the children have been confidently collecting their own data by surveying their friends. Next week we'll learn how we can present this data in different ways.  Year 2 photo gallery

Reminder - Year 2 Visit from Northampton Town Football Club

In lieu of a trip this term, we have planned a very exciting opportunity to work alongside Northampton Town Football Club (NTFC) in school for the day. Members of NTFC will be in school for a “Takeover Day” on Monday 3rd July.

Year 2 - Please see the email sent home for more information.

Year 3 News

Year 3 have been learning to convert pounds and pence to pence as well as add and subtract money amounts. They have continued to generate sentences for their explanation text. They have used alliteration and repetition for effect as well as powerful adjectives for description. More automaton cams have been completed too.

Click here to find out what subject the children have renamed as 'Calm Badgers Club'!

Forest School

Busy Bees - Hedgehogs have been finding out more about bees in their Forest School sessions. We have discussed how bees pollinate our flowers, make honey and do little dances to tell other bees when they have found a good source of food.

Find out what else we have been buzzy (busy) doing!
