Week ending 12th May 2023

Nursery News

Image[5]

The children have continued to enjoy our Animal Safari topic this week and have made their own safari park using the wooden blocks. Excellent name writing too as the children's fine motor skills develop in the summer term. The rain showers have also provided an excellent opportunity to see plenty of worms up close and personal.

This week Reception have investigated seeds, beans and roots and have decided to see if we can grow beans in different mediums, choosing sand, stones and soil as well as a mix! We have observed parts of plants closely and created observational drawings. We have begun to retell the story of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and how he changes. More news and photos

Year 1 News

We have enjoyed singing the continents song to help us to learn the names. This week we have been finding out about big cats and where they are located on the world. We used our large map of the world to position the continents names and to put the cats into the correct location where they can be found.

Year 2 News

It's been another busy week in Year 2! We especially enjoyed our geography lesson this week. We have been learning about coastal erosion using a practical demonstration to see how a coastline can change over time. We then saw how we can protect the land from erosion by building sea defences. It was great to hear the children using correct vocabulary to explain their understanding! More Year 2 news
