Year 2 - Coastlines and Caterpillars
It's been another busy week in Year 2! We especially enjoyed our geography lesson this week. We have been learning about coastal erosion using a practical demonstration to see how a coastline can change over time. We then saw how we can protect the land from erosion by building sea defences. It was great to hear the children using correct vocabulary to explain their understanding!
We have also had some exciting visitors in school for the last few weeks, who finally emerged on Tuesday! We have been observing the life cycle of a butterfly by looking after our very own painted lady butterflies. We watched them grow from tiny caterpillars, to big hungry ones, develop into a chrysalis... and then emerge as bright beautiful butterflies! We have enjoyed this opportunity to observe a real life cycle as we have been learning about in science.
In maths we have been learning about time to the quarter hour - can you have a go at home?
