Year 2 had an amazing day on Wednesday with their beach themed fun day! We started the morning learning about how the coastal town of Whitby has changed in the last 100 years. We enjoyed learning about the bathing machines and Whitby's 199 steps, and found the swimming costumes very funny!

After break we completed a range of exciting activities including making rainbow fruit skewers, playing in the sand, throwing the frisbee and making paper plate fish! We also enjoyed taking photos using the photo board! 

In the afternoon we were fortunate to have a visit from Alison Snelling from the RNLI who spoke to us about water safety. We learned how to float and shout for help and the best actions to take in an emergency around water.

We finished our fun day by tasting our fruit skewers which were delicious! What a memorable day!
