Year 2 - Visit to Northampton Town FC
Year 2 had an amazing day on Wednesday on our trip to Northampton Town FC. We started the day with a tour of the stadium, including seeing the changing rooms, walking on to the pitch through the tunnel and pulling our best football manager poses in the dugout! We then spent some time learning about local hero Walter Tull, to link to our history learning this term. We discussed how the language of recruitment posters at the time used football to lure in recruits to fight at war and how Walter progressed to the top of both football and military status.
We really enjoyed making use of the new community pitch for playtime and lunchtime, especially an adults vs children football match!
In the afternoon we were fortunate to have a visit from some of the young NTFC players who checked out our work from the morning. We had an amazing day, thank you to NTFC for having us! We look forward to building upon this back at school.
