Year 3 get off to a flying start
We have started the year off getting straight into our learning. Every day we practice our Kinetic Letters to improve our letter formation and progress in joined writing.
In maths we have been learning about place value and our first writing focus is through the book The Iron Man. We have read the first chapters and already we have lots of questions to predict and support our creative writing. In English reading we have been learning through The Stone Age Boy book, focusing on inference, retrieval and vocabulary skills.
In computing we kicked off our learning considering computing systems and networks through group work and discussion. We are looking forward to getting the Chromebooks out soon.
We have lots to get our teeth into as the weeks go on! In geography we are looking at the What is the same and different between UK and France and we will learn where France and the United Kingdom are located within the continent of Europe and that the English and French language is spoken in other places around the world.
In PE we are enjoying building team work skills in OAA (outdoor adventurous activities) allowing us to develop problem-solving skills through a range of challenges.
And finally we are enjoying sharing and celebrating our successes with everyone in the class.
