Year 5 sink submarines

Year 5 have enjoyed investigating different types of numbers this week. Using our knowledge of times tables we looked at multiples, factors, common factors and then used this to say whether numbers were composite, prime, squared and finally cubed numbers. In English we have used subordinate clauses to build complex sentences within our biographies. In science we learnt that when objects move through water a force called water resistance will try to slow and stop the movement. We tested the effect of water resistance against the surface area of different objects by dropping “submarines” into water and observed how long it took for them to reach the bottom. In RE we have started a new unit looking at Incarnation and in PE we have begun to develop strategies to be successful in the sport of Dodgeball.
