The first half of the summer term has seen the children in Nursery learning about animals, as we have focused on the stories Dear Zoo and Monkey Puzzle. The children have learnt to identify Safari animals by their features and have found out about their natural habitats as well.

We have also begun to learn phonics sounds, following the same Read, Write, Inc. programme as the rest of the school. After half-term the children will begin to blend sounds to create simple words, in anticipation for when they start Reception after the Summer.
