Summer Term 1 (24-25)

This term children have been learning about growing and how plants change over time leading to exploring the life cycle of our butterflies we have been looking after and nurturing from tiny caterpillars.

We have been exploring gardens and designing our own with features and enjoying stories by Eric Carle, the Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Tiny Seed.

We have been able to write instructions after making jam sandwiches and how to plant a seed and had lots of fun being gardeners . In maths we have explored 3 d shape and building numbers to 10 and beyond. We have enjoyed developing physical skills using balls and obstacles and showing how we can be role models for Nursery. In RE we have used drama brilliantly to re-tell stories Jesus told.

In Forest School, Reception have been busy gardeners, using tools to weed. They have loved exploring in the long grass and finding seasonal changes including beautiful new flowers. The children have found lots of minibeasts including ants, centipedes, millipedes, slugs, worms, bees, butterflies and beetles. album.
