Year 4 - Mountain Types
This week Woodpeckers have been studying the different types of mountains found around the world. By looking at the shape of the mountains we were able to sort them in to one of five types. We also considered how we can show the height and shape of a mountain by using contour lines. We saw how the spacing between contour lines showed how steep the incline is and decided to create our own 3D mountains using layers of card to represent the contours.
We have also been practising our times tables on Time Table Rock Stars and using a set of beautiful new dictionaries and thesauruses to enhance our written work - see how they captivated us in the photos below!
