Year 3 - Trip to Everdon Stubbs
There was great excitement for Year 3 this week when they set off to Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre on a coach!
While there we learnt why the woods were called Everdon Stubbs and what sort of animals used to live there and live there now. We had great fun trying our hand at lots of Stoneage themed activities including making wattle and daub enclosures, dying fabric by using the hapa zome technique, moulding and making patterned clay balls, hunting for animals with spears and bows and arrows and then making a spark to ignite a fire so we could 'cook' our hunted animals. We also worked in two groups to build a shelter and discussed the type of dwellings Stoneage people would have lived in.
It was so lovely to spend time together in the ancient woodland covered in bluebells. If you've never visited it's well worth a family trip!
