Reception - The animals went in two by two
We have spent time this past week learning more about the Bible story of Noah's Ark. We learned God told Noah to build an Ark as a great flood was to come. On the Ark, Noah was to take a pair of every creature on the Earth.
We have also been exploring the idea of pairs in our maths learning this week. We learned there are two in a pair and we looked at different examples of pairs, like our feet and ears.
On Thursday, Mrs Brock taught us about states of matter and changing state. We discussed what the three states of matter are and how we can make some solids become liquids. As we are sure your child has already informed you, no science lesson is complete without an exciting experiment!
The children held a chocolate button in their hand and closed their fist to see what would happen. We found that our chocolate buttons melted, turning from a solid to a liquid. Unable to eat those buttons we also melted some chocolate in the microwave and spread it over biscuits!
Miss Rashid’s themed joke of the week:
What did the solid say to the liquid?
"What's the matter?"
