Forest School - Christmas Crafts and Campfires
Wow, what a chilly two weeks we've had in Forest School!
It was lovely to have a fire with the Key Stage 2 groups - Year 3 used it to warm up cold fingers and toes while Year 4 had a go at making 'dampers' to cook on it. Why don't you ask us what they are and how they are made?
Christmas certainly arrived in Forest School this week. We constructed a brilliant Santa's sleigh, lots of decorations were made - some for our Forest School Christmas tree and some to take home, shelters for Mary and Joseph were built and the nativity story was retold with puppets. There was a star activity trail to follow and tiny elf doors to find around the site.
The cold weather also bought lots of opportunities for wintery exploration. We listened to the crunch of frost under our boots, defrosted it with the heat from our fingers, looked at the patterns it makes and loved smashing the ice which formed on the top of our favourite splashy puddle!
This month a range of different Christmas craft activities were available which some of the children chose to do - if your child did, we hope you enjoy your new Christmas decoration!
