The children in all sessions this week have loved collecting up the hundreds of acorns which are falling from the oak trees at the edge of our site. They have made acorn factories, had a very lively autumn parade in Year 3, pretended to be squirrels hiding caches of them and have used them for making mini pumpkins by painting them orange and adding faces. As well as playing conkers we have used them to make scary spiders to hide in Forest School (although some made their way home with the children!) Potion making is always a very popular activity with the children, especially as we got to mix one in Mrs Copland's 'cauldron' this time!
