Forest School - Year 3
We were very glad of a sunny morning for our session with Year 3 this week! It was a good time to remember our 'no pick, no lick' rule as we discovered a huge variety of interesting and beautiful fungi around our site. The recent damp weather had also brought out a large number of worms and snails to observe.
Some tiny eggs were found under a log which Mrs Copland is going to try and identify for our next session. We looked for signs of animal movement, especially around the boundary fences, and identified a number of entry/exit points by spotting flattened grass and holes that had been dug. Time to put out the night camera again to see what species we are sharing Forest School with!
Creative and imaginative juices were clearly flowing within the group as we had an acorn factory set up to provide food for 'Squirrels in Need', children were cooked in large tyre cauldrons and our own jumping platform was made to enjoy a newly created puddle!
A very busy morning!
