Year 1 on a mission to the moon
We have been learning about Neil Armstrong’s mission to the moon. We found out the key facts and then used drama to recreate them. First, we practised wearing our ‘space gloves’ to complete some activities and practised walking on stilts. We then put on our space helmets, boarded the Apollo 11 and took off to the moon. Once we arrived on the moon we walked on the craters and collected some moon rocks before returning back to Earth.
We have also enjoyed using our continuous provision to make rockets and space centres using construction toys.
