Year 2 have had a super first few weeks of summer term with lots of new units being introduced.

In art this half term we are working on a still life unit. We started off the lesson by exploring our own Monksmoor gallery in the corridors to see existing examples of still life art and learn about the styles of different artists including Vincent Van Gogh, Andy Warhol and Claude Monet. We then headed back to the classroom and chose the piece we were most inspired by to try and replicate. The children had a choice of mediums including charcoal, oil pastels, watercolour paints and chalk. They produced some beautiful pieces and we are very proud of their work. We're looking forward to seeing what other wonders are created this term!
