In Design & Technology we have been working on Cam mechanisms. We learned about converting circular motion, turning around and around, into linear motion, which might be side to side, or up and down in a straight line. As the cam mechanism turns, the linear motion is repeated over and over again, and this is called reciprocating motion. We enjoyed designing and making our unique pieces.

In our topic work we have started our 'Through the Ages' learning focusing on The Stone Age. We learned about the three periods Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic and discussed differences and progression in climate, settlements, food, tools, weapons and art. We will be continuing our learning, moving into the Bronze and Iron Age.

In maths we have started learning about fractions and in English writing we are working on a return narrative and writing a letter from our selected book 'Jemmy Button' by Jennifer Uman and Valerio Vidali.

We have enjoyed our maypole practice and are really proud of our performance! We will be starting athletics in PE this week!
