As part of our People of God topic in RE, we invited Major Catherine Rand from the Rugby branch of the Salvation Army to talk to the children about the organisation and answer their intelligent and thoughtful questions. It was really interesting to hear about Catherine’s childhood growing up as a child of missionaries in Kenya and her work now, helping refugees who have found themselves in the local area and people dealing with the cost-of-living crisis.  We learnt about how the Salvation Army can be mobilised quickly all over the world during times of natural disasters and war.  The children listened intently and respectfully.
