Year 3 - Trip to Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre

This event will take place between 9:30am and 2:55pm on 10/05/2022

1st May 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have arranged a wonderful opportunity for all the children from Reception to Year 3 to visit Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre during the summer term.  While there, the children will participate in activities linked to their current or prior curriculum learning in History, Geography or Science.

The Year 3 trip will take place within the school day on Tuesday 10th May 2022.  The coach will leave for Everdon at approximately 9:30 a.m. and return to school for the end of the school day.

The children will be outdoors for the whole day so should wear Forest School clothes including long sleeves and long trousers.  Like our Forest School sessions, they will be outside whatever the weather so please provide appropriate clothing for the day e.g. waterproofs, sun hat, sun cream.  Wellington boots should be worn.

This, along with a packed lunch and water bottle, should be in a small named rucksack.  A packed lunch can be ordered from Kingswood Catering or a lunch can be provided from home, please note the cut-off to order a Kingswood packed lunch for this date is Wednesday 4th May at 23:59.  Kingswood lunches can be added to by parents, if required.

We have been very fortunate to receive an Outdoor Essential Learning grant of £500 from the Ernest Cook Trust which we are putting towards the coach travel expenses.  However, we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £13 from each child.  If we do not receive enough donations the trip will be unable to take place.  Please make payment before Monday 9th May on Pay360.  Login to Pay360 select products then events and use the product labelled ‘Year 3 Everdon 2022’.

Everdon have asked if they might take photos of the children participating in the activities to use in their displays, website, social media and publicity.  If you would like to opt out of photos taken by the venue please contact the school office before Tuesday 10th May 2022.

We are keen for all our children to participate in the trip and will discuss any individual requirements for children with additional needs to ensure a successful visit.

The permission slip must be returned by Tuesday 10th May 2022 or unfortunately we will be unable to take your child on the trip.

Yours sincerely,

Jo Copland
