Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

This event will take place on 26/05/2022

18th May 2022

Dear Parents

Jubilee Celebrations

I am sure it hasn’t escaped your attention that our Queen is celebrating her Platinum Jubilee this year. As the celebrations fall within the half term, we would like to have our own day of celebrations on Thursday 26th May.

Children are invited to come to school in 1950s attire and will take part in a number of Jubilee themed learning activities. At lunch, we will come together in our very own street party. We are asking each family to provide 1 plate of food for the table, as families would in traditional street parties. Please see below for suggested allocations. If you are concerned about particular food allergies, you are welcome to provide a personal packed lunch.

If your child is entitled to a free school meal which you would still like provided on the day, please let the office know.

Reception: Sandwiches

Year 1: Savouries

Year 2: Fruit/Veg/Salad

Year 3: Sweet treats

Please ensure your plate of food is suitably covered and provided on a disposable plate.

Nursery children will have their own celebration in the morning and will go home at 12pm as usual. Any snacks will be provided by the school.

Our PTA is planning an evening party for the children to attend, with traditional music and party games. More information to follow.

Finally, we are contributing to the Daventry town bunting and the children have been busy making flags which proudly display our school logo. If you would like any templates to make flags at home, please let us know.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak with your class teacher.

Yours sincerely
