SCARF – Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, Friendship

Coram SCARF - leading RSHE and citizenship education

SCARF for primary schools is a PSHE scheme of work, designed to help pupils develop essential life skills and knowledge. SCARF covers key topics such as emotional well-being, healthy lifestyles, relationships, and safety, providing age-appropriate activities and lessons. By engaging in discussions, role-playing, and interactive activities, pupils learn to navigate social situations, make informed choices, and understand the importance of physical and mental health. Designed to go beyond the statutory curriculum, SCARF supports teachers in creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment where pupils can build confidence, resilience, and a sense of responsibility

Useful documents

The overview document available below shows how children’s learning is spread across each year group, giving plenty of opportunity for repetition and recall.

We ensure we give children the opportunity to use knowledge learned in previous years and to practise skills.  This is clearly outlined in this progression grid available below.
