Year 1 Northampton Town Football Club Trip

This event will take place between 9:00am and 3:30pm on 22/11/2023

Year 2 Trip to Sixfields Stadium, Northampton

It’s time for our first trip of the academic year and I am pleased announce we have an exciting opportunity to visit Sixfields Stadium in Northampton and work alongside Northampton Town Football Club (NTFC) for the day.

The trip will take place on Wednesday 22nd November 2023 and we will be travelling by coach to and from the stadium.

Members of NTFC will lead learning activities based upon Walter Tull which will provide a local link to our “Movers and Shakers” topic this term where we have been learning about significant people in history.   Walter Tull was both a professional footballer player and a soldier during World War One. Walter became recognised as the first black officer to lead white British soldiers into battle. He played for Tottenham Hotspur and Northampton Town FC and has become a local and national significant figure.

NTFC will lead for the day on a range of activities based upon Walter Tull himself, life at war, team building and of course, sending the message of football being everyone’s game.

To enable this trip we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £18.35 per child to cover the costs of the visit, including travel. Payment can be made via ParentMail and should be paid by Thursday 30th November. If your child is entitled to pupil premium, the cost of the event will be covered.

We plan to leave and return from the stadium within usual school hours so drop off and collection arrangements remain unchanged. Children should come to school in full school uniform, ensuring they have coats in case of inclement weather. Children will need a packed lunch and drink for the day. This can be ordered via Kingswood or a lunch can be provided from home. Please note Kingswood lunches must be ordered by 11:59pm on Wednesday 15th November.

Please note that those who usually have music lessons with Mrs Cliffe on a Wednesday will have additional time added on to a future session to ensure they receive their full tuition time this term.

We are looking forward to a fun-filled day that is sure to have an impact!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Yours sincerely,
